Why choose Emperor for my dog?
Emperor brings together complete and balanced nutrition, chicken-based flavour and nutrients that support everyday wellbeing. Its scientifically formulated puppy and adult recipes include prebiotics for digestive health, omega fatty acids for skin and coat, and glucosamine and chondroitin for joint support. We can help you choose a recipe for your dog’s life stage.
Which recipe is right for my dog?
For growing puppies, choose Puppy All Breed. For adult dogs, choose Adult All Breed, or Small Breed Adult if your dog prefers smaller kibble. The 2.5 kg puppy pack contains the puppy recipe in a convenient smaller bag. Send us your dog’s age, breed, weight and current food, and we’ll help you compare the options.
What makes the puppy recipe different?
Growing puppies have different nutritional needs from adult dogs. Emperor Puppy provides a minimum of 28% protein and 14% fat, with DHA to support development. It gives you a dedicated puppy option instead of relying on an adult recipe during growth.
What supports my dog’s digestion, skin and coat?
Chicory root, sugar beet pulp and prebiotics support normal digestive function, while omega fatty acids and linoleic acid support healthy skin and coat. These are everyday nutritional benefits. If your dog has ongoing itching, digestive upset or joint pain, your vet can help identify the cause and advise on the right diet.
My dog is a fussy eater. Is Emperor worth trying?
Emperor includes hydrolysed chicken liver for flavour, making it an option to consider for a selective eater. Ask us about a smaller pack in the appropriate recipe so you can introduce it gradually and see how your dog enjoys it before choosing a larger bag.
Does Emperor contain grains or chicken?
Yes. Emperor uses chicken as its animal protein source and includes grains such as rice and maize. The range is described as made without fish, pork, beef or soy. We can help you check the current pack’s full ingredient list before buying. For a diagnosed food allergy, including chicken allergy, follow your vet’s dietary advice; Emperor is not a prescription allergy diet.
How much should I feed, and how long will a bag last?
Use the feeding guide on your chosen pack as your starting point, then adjust for your dog’s activity and body condition. To estimate how long a bag will last, divide its weight in grams by your dog’s daily portion: a 20 kg bag lasts about 50 days at 400 g a day, or 40 days at 500 g a day. Your dog’s feeding amount may differ. Tell us the daily portion and we’ll help you compare pack sizes.
How do I change from my dog’s current food?
Mix Emperor with the current food over about seven days: 25% Emperor on days 1–2, 50% on days 3–4, 75% on days 5–6, and 100% on day 7. Keep fresh water available and monitor appetite and stools. Take longer if your dog needs a gentler transition; seek veterinary advice if digestive upset continues.
Can I feed it to a pregnant or nursing dog?
We’ll help you check the selected recipe’s current label for pregnancy and nursing suitability. Because nutritional needs increase during these stages, ask your vet to confirm the recipe and daily feeding amount before you start.
